The
Role of Technology in the 21st
century Education
“There
is no permanent in this world except change.”
As
our world slowly changes, there is a great need to educate students
for them to be prepared in life’s constant battle. Technologies are
very useful for us nowadays that is why it develops rapidly.
In
this present day or the 21st
century, technologies are great help for teachers as well as
students. The
tasks given by the teachers are designed to incorporate many skills
and intelligence levels, and makes use of technology and multimedia.
The lessons are not dependent on textbooks, instead they are project
based. Through their research and projects, skills and content are
learned, and textbooks are provided as one of many possible
resources. Technology plays a big role in developing student’s
intelligence because nowadays it is very easy to look for information
of a certain topic where ever we want. While it may take some time
before schools and teachers are equipped to properly educate in the
21st century. Children will be engaged and eager to learn, in fact,
they will carry on learning at home and over holidays, and they will
have the resources they need to keep learning no matter where they
are. If the teacher is fund of using technology as a medium for
teaching he/ she should know how to balance the traditional teaching
and the technology.
In
order to educate the 21st century learners, teachers and
administrators need to cultivate and maintain the student's interest
by showing how this knowledge applies in the real world of
competence.
